Mobile Alabama

When we left Rustic Sands Campground at Mexico Beach we passed through the tail end of a storm that had tornado warnings in the north. Were we lucky all we got was a bit of rain! We stopped for lunch, Dennis & Myrna went to a Subway and Irene & I went over to a place called Bauyou Bobs. The first thing we saw on the menue was crawfish so we had to have it. The waitress told us that down here they call them "mud bugs" and they were good. Tonight we are staying at the Wildnerness Campground 27 miles east of Mobile Alabama. The first thing on the agenda after we set up camp was to unload the trikes and head out for Mobile. Dennis took us into Mobile and explained a lot about things on our way in. We found the tourist info at Fort Conde and talked to the ladies there and we did a self guided tour of the fort. A great contrast between the old and the new.Very interesting and the pictures on the walls told many stories themselves. The only original part of the fort are the cobblestones. On the way back to camp crossing over the long causeway we turned over the 100,000 Km on our trike. A milestone! For dinner tonight the guys BBQ steak, shrimp and baked potatoes. MMMM good. Heading for Mississippi tomorrow.
