Last night in Sioux Falls we blew a fuse on the motorhome, it was for the dash lights, well guess where it was, under the dash and it was installed by a 50# midget, and that is not Dennis or I. Being the closest thing to it I was elected to replace it, the picture tells all.
Light snow this morning when we left but it didn't amount to anything. We made a short side trip into Akron, Iowa where Hyel Trucking is located. Dennis worked for them a few years ago and stopped in to say hi to some of the guys he knew.
It was back on the road and heading for La Vista just outside of Omaha NE to find the Cabelas outdoor store. It was great and very large (128,000) sq ft. Almost anything that you may be looking for in the way of outdoor recreation stuff you will find it there. The displays are just fabulous.
They were offering free hats if you signed up for a visa card with them and as we are from Canada we don't qualify even though I didn't want one "but I would like a free hat"
When I asked the girl about that she said with a smile "well if you take my picture I may do that", well guess what I did, I took her picture. She said come over her to the counter and she handed me 4 hats. what a surprise!! After leaving there Dennis drove us right to a Cracker Barrel Country Store for lunch, they are good. It is sure getting to be rolling hills in Missouri. I was real surprised to see the mileage signs on the highway being posted every 2/10ths of a mile, seems like a little overkill on the signs.
We've been dry camping in truck stops most of the time and also at other parking lots and we have had to have the generator running because we have the polar pack on to keep things from freezing at night. It uses about 1 gal per hour x about 14 hrs per night x almost $3 per gal, well you get the idea it was costing us about $40 per night to run it. Now that we are in the part of the country where there are open campgrounds we are camping for tonight at the Basswood Resort, Platte City MO cost for the four of us $24, not bad eh!! Also, there is no more snow and we seem to have stayed ahead of any storms we hear of!

You should try to post a google map of your progress on here
You said that you took the girl picture but I don't see it anywhere in the blog. Next time we talk, you at least show me the hats. It is nice to follow you guys around on this trip. Have fun...
